National Suicide Research Foundation
The National Suicide Research Foundation is an independent, multi-disciplinary research unit which investigates the causes of suicide, self-harm and related mental health and social factors in Ireland.
We are a registered charity (CHY11351) based in University College Cork, Ireland.
The members of our research team come from a broad range of disciplines including psychology, psychiatry, medicine, sociology, epidemiology, public health, biostatistics and health services research.
The National Suicide Research Foundation aims to:
· Examine: By monitoring trends, risk factors and protective factors associated with suicide and self-harm
· Intervene: By applying evidence-based interventions at a local, national and international level
· Translate: By translating and disseminating research in order to inform and impact on policy and practice
