Western Alzheimers

Western Alzheimers provides a complete service of care to families affected by Alzheimers/Dementia in the Western Region of Ireland.

At Western Alzheimers our mission to not only provide carers with a break from caring but also to promote a dementia friendly and inclusive community.

We are committed to delivering relevant and tangible care and support for people who are living with Alzheimers Disease and their families.

We promote and seek to create a keen awareness of the nature and impact of Alzheimers Disease. We work closely with our partners & statutory health agencies to build on our pioneering endeavours in the planning and development of suitable facilities and models of care. We are guided and driven by our strong ethos of sharing the burden of care with those who most need our help.

Western Alzheimers supports hundreds of families with a �home from home� philosophy ensuring that people living with Alzheimers Disease are cared for in a safe and comfortable environment.

Our comprehensive service model offers families a choice of care supports and facilities including Long Stay Residential Care; Respite Care; Day Care and In-Home Care in the community.

Our facilities are based in :

Mayo -Ballindine.

Galway -Athenry,  Claregalway and Galway City.

Roscommon - Fourmilehouse

Finance is generated predominantly through fundraising activities, complimented by both State and philanthropic contributions.


where your money goes

Funds raised support our vision to ensure people living with dementia can enjoy a meaningful life as an active member of the community for as long as possible by continuing to provide: 

In-home support in Mayo, Galway and Roscommon. 

Respite and Day Care in Mayo and Galway providing dementia specific care and enabling the primary carer to have a break from caring.

Long Stay Care is also available in Galway.

With your help we will continue to meet the growing demand for services in the West of Ireland.
