Ability West
Ability West provides services and supports to children and adults with an intellectual disability throughout County Galway, with 62 centres located in 13 geographical locations.

Services provided include day, residential, respite, rehabilitative training, supports towards employment, active ageing, community support and multidisciplinary supports such as social work, psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. Ability West is also a patron of four special schools located in Ballinasloe, Carraroe, Galway City and Tuam.
where your money goes
All proceeds raised for and on behalf of Ability West are used towards our ongoing capital programme which includes new builds, extensions and refurbishments of existing buildings, the purchase of specialised equipment and minibuses.

Ability West – Éirim An Iarthair, formerly known as The Galway County Association for Mentally Handicapped Children, was set up by parents and friends in 1962. Over the past 60 years Ability West has grown from strength to strength and we now provide high quality services and supports to over 600 children and adults with an intellectual disability.
