About
ACT for Meningitis is a charity which aims to raise awareness and educate society about the signs and symptoms of Meningitis. We also offer free support services to families and indivduals affected by Meningitis.

Mission:To raise awareness, to promote education and to provide support to those affected by meningitis in Ireland

Vision: To see an Ireland where lives are no longer lost to meningitis, and through our support services no-one faces the meningitis journey alone.

Future: To build "Aoibhe's House", a unique Meningitis Centre of Excellence based in the west of Ireland, providing essential support vital training and life-saving awareness at a national level.

ACT for Meningitis is a non -profit organisation based in Galway, Ireland. It was established in 2011 by Siobhán and Noel Carroll, who in 2008 lost their precious daughter Aoibhe - aged 4- to Meningitis. Since losing Aoibhe, Siobhán and Noel feel that there is an urgent need to increase awareness and educate people of the signs and symptoms of Meningitis.

FREE COUNSELLING SERVICE...for families or individuals who have been affected by Meningitis

ONE TO ONE SERVICE...Contact with someone who has had a similar experience to yourself can provide valuable support.

FREE FAMILY DAYS...bringing families together to share their experiences of Meningitis .Parents can get to meet each other while their children can play together.

CREATIVE THERAPIES...including play and art therapy which helps children deal with the impact of the disease..�

ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES...including Emmett & Bowen therapy

We distribute hundreds of meningitis awareness cards around the country every week and also give Meningitis awareness presentations....
