About 15 of us showed up for the hike on Sat. The start was "a bit blowy" and the clouds were on top of us as we ascended. As we came around the lee side of the mountain, the sun came out and warmed things up nicely. Lovely hike, though the last push to the summit was straight up a 35+ degree slope--my legs are still protesting. We posed for pictures at several stops (I will load the group shot when I get it.) Tony and Niamh of KantanMT did a fantastic job or taking care of us and organizing things. Beer and BBQ were the rewards at the end.
Padraig Schaler, a 2013 TCD graduate from Glasnevin, Dublin, acquired a very severe brain injury when he was hit by a van on 27 June 2013 as he cycled to work on Cape Cod. Nobody was ever prosecuted.
He is now living with his family in Dublin. He requires 24-hour care and is fully dependent.
All proceeds go to the Caring for Padraig fund, administered by a Committee independent of the family.
