Killaloe/Ballina Community & Family Resource Centre
where your money goes
The Family Resource Centre has secured tenure for new premises from the Office of Public Works at the former Garda Barracks, the Green, Killaloe. This is a significant development that will increase the amount of work that we can do with and for the over 4,500 local community members living in our catchment area.
However, the new premises require quite a substantial amount of construction and refurbishment work. About 75% of these cost are covered by a low cost loan provided by Community Finance Ireland but the remainder is being raised through donations and fundraising and the we would appreciate any assistance people can provide.
history
The Killaloe/Ballina Family Resource Centre first opened its doors to the community in July 2003. Due to the restricted space it moved to the Main Street in Killaloe in 2009. KBFRC provides an easily accessible community hub for both community groups and service users of the twin towns and the surrounding area. The centre offers a wide range of services with an emphasis on Training and Education, Community Initiatives, Mental Health & Welbeing, Youth Work and Parental Support.
