Every two minutes of every day, a man, woman or child in the developing world learns that he or she has leprosy: the oldest and cruelest disease known to humankind. That�s over half a million new cases of leprosy every year.
Today, leprosy can be cured.Yet more than medicines, those with complex cases may require therapy, rehabilitation, vocational training, housing options and much more. For thousands of years, leprosy has been a source of fear and outrage. Yet we have an opportunity today to give people affected with this disease hope for the future.
