I am running this raffle to raise much needed funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). They have been the main support for my wife and family since May 2020 when she was diagnosed with MND/ALS. The support they gave us includes equipment such as an electric height adjustable bed, custom fitted electric wheelchair, an iPad with predictable software to allow my wife to talk as her voice has weakened. A dedicated MND nurse covers the Southeast of Ireland and is a phone call away when we need advice or help to liaise with other medical teams. She is 1 of 4 nurses covering all of Ireland. We have also received support grants to cover a carer who comes in at lunch time and has food ready and helps with anything that is required with my wife's illness. Counselling grants have also been provided for all of us in our family. In a year, the cost of all these services and equipment has easily pushed over the €10,000 mark and with that in mind I would love to be able give back what was given to us. 84% of all funding raised by IMNDA is given through public donations and fundraisers such as this.
