In 2022, we challenged ourselves massively, tackling the iconic Galley Head Swim set in the Atlantic Ocean in gorgeous West Cork, Ireland. As a team of four, we took on the 10km distance, 2.5km each, and we loved every minute of it – the swim, the cause, the support, the beautiful water, the tea, the crew, and even the jellyfish. Maybe not the jellyfish. :-) Fast forward one year later, and our team of two will swim 5km each. Annette will start from the Red Strand handing over to super swimmer coach Maxine at the 5km point and the tip of the Galley Head lighthouse waters, and she will take us home (fairly briskly!) on her 5km leg into the Warren Beach. Maxine did the full 10km distance in 2022! 

This swim would not be possible without the help of our crew, Tom and Ken O'Hara, two of the calmest people you will ever meet, and no matter how challenging the water (or creatures that lurk beneath!), will mind us and motivate us, which phrases such as “you’ll be grand."

This is the fifth Galley Head Swim that will take place on the 22nd of July, 2023. The swim will aid three worthy causes - Marymount Hospice, Cancer Connect, and CoAction. All proceeds will be split equally between the three charities.
