4. Women's empowerment Project located in Adigrat, Tigrey Region of Northern Ethiopia.
In this town of 100,000 people there are many unmarried mothers who are destitute and have no prospect of supporting themselves and their families.
In this project Support Africa working together with local Government operate a Day Care Centre catering for 150 children of destitute women.

Five days a week we take care of the children in a newly built state of the art facility. The children range from 2 to 5 years and for 12 months attend the centre. They are cared for through education, nursing care and nutrition, whilst their mothers attend structured classes on personal development, health and enterprise planning. They are then given a loan and mentoring services to start up their small business. To date this project has benefited 360 poor woman and 520 children.

A further development of this project is that an Enterprise Centre is under construction to house 50 small businesses in suitable buildings with subsidized rents and mentoring services, the first of its kind in Ethiopia.

Support Africa has its head office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. As earlier stated 100% of donor's money goes to the Projects, head office costs and administration fees are all covered by the founding directors.
