where your money goes

BOCSI West Region support people to be valued citizens in their local community, to have ordinary life experiences and to be closely connected to family and friends. We are committed to supporting people to make choices about their lives and to the provision of quality services that meet people’s needs.

The Physiotherapy Department forms part of the multidisciplinary teams and provide assessments, recommendations, and therapy to a wide range of people and age groups, in a variety of settings.

Physiotherapists working in the area of intellectual disability require an ability to merge specialist skills and experience, including specialist areas such as neurology, orthopaedics, respiratory care, paediatrics, care of the elderly, orthotics, postural management, prescription of equipment, and relevant treatment techniques.

One of the main goals within the Physiotherapy Team is the promotion of healthy and active lifestyles, thus enhancing the quality of a persons life and prevention of debilitating conditions.

Any funds raised from the ‘100 Miles’ MedSoc challenge will be put towards the purchase of additional trikes to support a cycling programme for our Persons Supported.
