overview
Reach is the leading children's charity providing support and information to those affected by upper limb difference.
There are many types of upper limb deficiency, the anomaly is
so varied that obtaining support can be difficult. Many professionals involved
in health care do not see enough cases to build up
expertise. Reach hopes that by pooling the knowledge of its membership
it can offer a level of support to all. Reach provides the means by
which parents and professionals can bring together experiences, information,
support and guidance.

The Association was founded in 1978 in the UK. Originally called The Association for Children with Artificial Arms the charity has developed considerably. In 1988 the name was changed to "Reach, The Association for Children with Hand or Arm Deficiency" when it was realised that many of the members of Reach did not wear prostheses.
Reach now offers support to families whose children have many and varied hand or arm differences.
