PALS Preschool
PALS Preschool is a registered charity that was established in 2008. The preschool was created to meet the community demand for an intensive, structured preschool for children with autism. The school offers a child-centred education for children with autism between 3 and 5 years old. Our school can accommodate up to 48 children. PALS Preschool has eight classrooms- four in the morning and four in the afternoon, each of which may cater for 6 children.
Our approach uses a range of evidence- based institutional principles and methodologies, including elements of Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication (TEACCH), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), direct instruction and natural environment teaching. All programs are implemented in accordance with the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
Each student’s educational programmes are designed to meet the individual child’s learning needs and facilitate their development to ensure the child reaches their potential. Our aim is to develop skills for success in the home, school and wider community. Through their Individualised Educational Plans (IEP), students have access to a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, and functionally relevant range of curricular experiences.

PALS Preschool offers a variety of extra curricular activities to each child in ther service these include a Certified Music Therapist and an Adaptive Physical Education Coach.
Each class has one music therapy session per week, here the children work on, motor movements, singing/ vocalizing, following directions, taking turns, participating with a group and waiting for their turn through music and song. During the weekly Adaptive Physical Education sessions, the children use their “big muscles” to work on actions such running, skipping and jumping. Additional concepts of turn taking, waiting, imitating and a group play are taught in a fun and exciting way.
We would greatly appreciate any donations to help cover the costs of these extra curricular activities and to help purchase new materials for the kids to enjoy during these sessions!

The school offers a child-centred education for children with autism between 3 and 5 years old. Our school can accommodate up to 48 children. PALS Preschool has eight classrooms- four in the morning and four in the afternoon, each of which may cater for 6 children. Each classroom has one teacher and 2-3 tutors depending on the needs of the children.
