overview

SCOOP- Do Some Good.

We support the welfare, education and well being of displaced children and young adults living in Displacement Camps in Iraqi Kurdistan and in Direct Provision Centres here in Ireland.

More spefically in the Bajed Kandala Camp in Iraqi Kurdistan we support a health clinic and school, and are developing our SCOOP Ed programme which allows remote classes and mentoring to take place with volunteers and professionals working out of Ireland streaming to the classroom in the camp.

At home, in Direct Provision Centres we focus on the young person's access to their Human Rights (through the iSave Project in conjunction with Erasmus & The Gaiety Theatre) and we have recently set up a Music Production Programme (Abelton) as well as An Arts Programme and Artist Residency Programme (in conjunction with Jill & Gill) in order to help young artist living in DP access an artists studio, equipment and mentoring.

Our StreetSmart campaign, which took a hiatus during the Covid Lockdown, is returning in the winter of 2021 and it works alongside Irish restaurants in order to raise funds to support grasstoor projects working to tackle the homelessness crisis. In 2022 we plan to develop StreetSmart to become a training and job placement programme for teenagers who are most at risk at becoming homeless and / or drug addicts.
