Snowflakes Autism Support

Set up in January 2012, we are a support group for parents, siblings & children affectedby an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Snowflakes autism support offer support to parents of children diagnosed with ASD by organising social events for the children & siblings, holding support group meetings, workshops, information evenings & social events for parents.

The name Snowflakes was chosen for our group because children with autism are like snowflakes they are beautiful, each one is uniquely different and they are liable to meltdown at any time!

overview

To date, we have over 600 members and over the course of 2012-2022, we organised very successful outings to Newbridge Farm, to Rathbeggan Lakes, to Sea Life in Bray and to Dublin Zoo to name but a few. We also held a very successful week-long summer camp in August and a soccer camp in conjunction with the FAI. We also run support group meetings and practical workshops for parents to assist them in their childs development and late last year we commenced a hugely popular weekly social club for teenagers and pre-teens with ASD. In our short existence, we have brought much needed hope and positivity into the lives of families affected by autism.
