Online Charity & Non Profit Fundraising Services

As the home of film in Ireland, the IFI seeks to be an inspiring, creative influence and to promote a wider understanding of film culture and its critical importance.

Behind the scenes, the breadth of the impact of COVID-19 for the IFI remains to be seen and we are working to meet our current challenges and prepare for our next steps. With our revenues impacted by cinema closures, your support is more meaningful than ever. You make it possible for us to continue our nonprofit work, including our education and preservation programmes.

The Irish Film Institute is Ireland’s national cultural institution for film. It provides audiences throughout Ireland with access to the finest independent, Irish and international cinema; it preserves and promotes Ireland’s moving image heritage through the IFI Irish Film Archive, and provides opportunities for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to learn about and critically engage with film. The IFI comprises three core activities: to Exhibit, Preserve, and Educate, and operates in Dublin, nationally and internationally.

Established in 1943, the IFI moved into our current home in 1992, an 18th-century former Quaker Meeting House on Eustace Street. In the more than two decades since our move to Eustace Street, the IFI has become one of the busiest and most dynamic arts organisations in the country, engaging with audiences nationally and internationally.

Throughout the IFI's history, a commitment to and love of cinema have always been central to our mission.

As a charity, donations go back into our nonprofit activities. Your donation supports our education programmes, the work of our archive in ensuring the preservation of our heritage for generations to come, and ongoing capital works.

Film education is a core activity of the IFI, and we provide learning opportunities through a range of programmes by which audiences can access and critically engage with film. We aim to offer the best in contemporary cinema as well as introductions to classic, Irish and world cinema. Education audiences include children and families, young people in and out of school, IFI members and friends and general public. Donations help make these programmes possible by subsidising tickets and increasing access to film education for diverse audiences.

Donations to the IFI support the work of our Irish Film Archive in restoring, preserving and digitising Ireland’s rich moving image heritage for the benefit of current and future generations, and help make archive material available for free to audiences worldwide through the IFI Player.

Donations also help us to secure the future of our unique 18th-century heritage building as a fit for purpose cinema, supporting our ongoing refurbishment costs.
