O'Regan Park Development c/o Obair Newmarket-On-Fergus Limited

O'Regan Park was named after the late Dr. Brendan O’Regan (1917 – 2008), who was a forward thinking visionary. He contributed enormously to Irish society throughout his life including many local projects, examples are the Shannon Duty Free and the setting up of Obair here in Newmarket on Fergus.

The ambitious park development includes activity areas for all age groups from the very young to the active retired. Under the aegis of Obair, the committee and the park designer found spaces for picnic benches, swings, trim trail, wild life areas, a playground, community orchard, outdoor class room and even possibly a BMX track and much more.

overview

The O'Regan Park Development committee is not only engaged in the planning process, but also needs to raise funds to contribute to the building work. To this end various fundraising events are and will be organised and any contribution will be very, very much appreciated.

where your money goes

Your contributions will go directly to the park development: groundworks, equipment, benches, planting, security, maintenance training. Every cent counts and your support will create a wonderful space for all members of your family.

history

Obair Newmarket on Fergus Ltd was established in 1993 as a result of meetings organised by local individuals who were committed to encouraging people in the community to take greater responsibility for development in the area. Their goal lay in developing a vibrant community organisation to promote and develop local employment opportunities at a time when unemployment was high and the future of Shannon Airport was questionable.
