friend's fundraiser

St John Ambulance are a 100% charity organisation, providing first aid care to the sick and injured in the local community. Cabinteely Division has been operating for almost 35 years. in that time we have treated and transported to hospital, thousands of people in YOUR community.

In 2012 alone we treated over 12,000 people locally, bringing many to hospital free of charge. In that time volunteer members put in 86,000 manhours at thousands of events.

We are completely reliant on charitable donations from fellow members of the community. A donation to St John Cabinteely Cadets is a donation that will be used not in administration or overseas but to treat and care for you, your family and your friends in your area should the need arise. Our money goes on supplies and equipment to render care locally.

St John Ambulance members give their time and training to the community free of charge and have done so in the Cabinteely area for 35 years. Members consist of surgeons, doctors, nurses, medical practitioners and first responders, trained to deal with all manner of illness and injury from those that are life threatening to bumps and bruises. Most of the St John Ambulance’s most senior members started out in their Cadet Divisions before progressing to senior membership, where they spend 7 years from the age of eleven, learning the techniques and guidelines that will allow them to save lives in the local community, as well as helping them develop to represent the ideals of St John; honesty, integrity, respect, care for the sick and loyalty.

St John Cabinteely are one of St John’s most active Divisions(units) and are commonly seen local as first aid provider to Cabinteely and Park Celtic F.C.s, Dun Laoghaire Christmas Fair, Dancing at the Crossroads, Seapoint RFC, Cuala GAA, the local 5&10k Runs and nationally at Croke Park, Aviva and the RDS. Their presence was huge at the Seapoint rugby blitz last Sunday where 1700 children participated with St John treating 48 patients and transporting 4 to Crumlin Children’s Hospital. St. John as a whole have been providing first aid in Ireland for 104 years, making them the oldest ambulance service in the country, pre-dating Red Cross, Order of Malta and our National Ambulance Service.
