I'm taking part in. I've chosen to fundraise for Mercy University Hospital Foundation . All funds raised here will go directly to the Mercy Cancer Appeal.
Having experienced the excellent professional care and support being provided by the cancer staff in the Mercy Hospital and Lee Clinic allied to my awareness of the importance of cancer research and the development of facilities for patients, it has encouraged me to offer my support by embarking on this fundraiser.
I will walk 300 miles in Cork and my native Kerry to conclude virtually the 300 mile 'Way of St. Francis', a pilgrimage route from Florence to Rome. The milage logged on my trusty pocketed Garmin which will be transferred to my Conqueror Challenge App as I 'walk' to Rome (https://www.theconqueror.events).
To date I have concluded the 480 miles of the Camino Santiago and is presently nearing Killorglin on my Ring of Kerry 'virtual ramble'.
I will keep supporters of the fundraiser regularly updated and informed about my walks and my virtual progress on the Way of St. Francis'. Illustrated accounts will be published on my Facebook page (facebook.com/bart.bambury) and highlights shared on the Mercy Hospital Foundation facebook page.
Tosóidh Bart a shiúlóid ar 15ú Lúnasa 2021.
