Dear friends,
I'm taking part in The IHF Camino Challenge 2018 on Sunday 9th of September 2018 in aid of The Irish Hospice Foundation.
Funds raised through this event will go to support the work of the IHF including the Nurses for Night Care Project – this is a free national service which enables people to receive expert care and support at night in their own homes in their final days. It also provides reassurance and respite for families and loved ones caring for someone at home. More than 600 families are helped each year and demand is growing. A few years ago, I was very impressed by the wonderful approach to end-of-life care my brother Michael received from his local hospice. Not only did Mike receive top notch medical support, wherein every client is made as comfortable as possible. I had not anticipated the way the hospice provided wonderful care and a holistic ethos that also looked after his young family. This all-encompassing approach softened the impact of a very sad life event. To this end, I hope that more people will have access to that same wonderful care if / when they need it.
I'm really looking forward to the walk but rest assured that all funds raised here will go directly to The Irish Hospice Foundation.
I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can - no matter how big or small all donations are very gratefully accepted.
Many thanks,
Helen
