Having only taken up running over the past few years and only run up to a 10k distance pre Covid, I ended up running longer distances between April and December last year more for fitness and exercise rather than trying to break any records.
Over the Christmas I read an article about committing to do a marathon distance week each week in 2021 for a very worthy cause so I decided it was a good opportunity to continue my fitness campaign whilst at the same time raising funds for LauraLynn, an Irish childrens' hospice.
LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice providing hospice and palliative care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Last year, 374 children and families from every corner of Ireland availed of LauraLynn care, supports and activities. All funds raised from this challenge will go towards supporting these children and their families.
