50 Mercer staff are participating in Dublin City Triathlon on Saturday 17th of August 2019 in order to raise funds for Cancer treatment, Cancer care and Crumlin children's hospital.
Each of us have been affected by cancer, whether through friends or family members falling ill, or even receiving a diagnosis ourselves. Cancer is a one of the most prevalent diseases worldwide and it is expected that 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with some form of this disease during our lifetimes. While we can take comfort in the fact that treatments and survival rates are improving all the time, a cancer diagnosis for an individual today and the subsequent invasive treatment plans that this entails, can really take its toll on both the patient and those that love them. We hope that by raising funds for Cancer we can make life a little easier for those who are currently suffering. The three charities we have chosen to support are: Saint Luke’s (helping those currently receiving cancer treatment), Cancer Clinical Research Trust (CCRT, a cancer research programme) and Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
