When I decided I would do it again this year, I was hoping I would actually run at least some of it! But that was before a bit of a sharp downturn in my health. Most of my friends have some idea that I'm not entirely well, but for those who don't, see *****Boring Moany Bit***** below.
So anyway-...
When I decided I would do it again this year, I was hoping I would actually run at least some of it! But that was before a bit of a sharp downturn in my health. Most of my friends have some idea that I'm not entirely well, but for those who don't, see *****Boring Moany Bit***** below.
So anyway- I'm doin' it! I will traverse 10k in whatever way my body allows(!!) and I'd love if you could show your support by donating some money to the marvellous Féileacáin, in memory of our little Ruby and all our friends' babies and siblings too.
This money will help other parents and families through the darkest moments of their lives, providing cooled cots to spend some time with their baby, kits to take their hand and footprints, a blanket and teddy for baby, photographs of baby to keep forever, on and offline support groups, and so much more.
Féileacáin are not just there for you at the very worst moments, at the beginning of the journey, Féileacáin are there for you when everyone else thinks you're "better", when no one mentions your baby's name anymore, when life moves on and it still hurts. When Scarlett was born they sent her a 'little sister' teddy. On Ruby's 4th birthday this month we got a text from them. I can never express how deeply grateful I am that this charity exists.
So please, by all means, donate, share, and get in touch to nag me about training.

I've had nasty unexplained aches and pains for a good few years now, but over the last year or so this has become a near constant complaint. CBD and Ibuprofen are my friends, but even so, getting on with the pain can be very difficult some days- loading the washing machine can feel as though someone is trying to bend and snap my arms- and parenting a toddler while dealing with this leaves me absolutely shattered! I've been tested and 'cleared' for Rheumatoid Arthritis by my GP, who has referred me to the Rheumatology Dept in Vincent's. I may be 80 by the time my appointment comes round.
