I'm Sheila, I made a last minute decision to run the Dublin City Marathon for a wonderful organisation called Watch Your Back MND.

They are raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. This is a devastating disease that at present there is no cure or effective treatment.

"MND is not untreatable, it's underfunded" Prof Orla Hardiman.

I'm asking you to dig deep, this is a horrific disease that is relentless.

Google it.

Then if you can throw a few bob this way, any amount will help, everything will be very much appreciated.

It will help keep me focussed when I get my stitch and when I hit the dreaded 20 mile block.

It's 18 years since I ran a marathon, so I'm digging deep, will you?
