Cork Penny Dinners was founded originally as a soup kitchen. They currently serve almost 2,000 meals per week to people that sometimes cannot afford a meal – homeless people, those suffering from substance abuse or simply those that cannot make ends meet. Their aim is a simple one - to give everyone who calls to their centre a hot nourishing mid-day meal. In addition, clients get sandwiches and fruit to take away as an evening meal. At Cork Penny Dinners, there is an open door and a warm welcome. They never judge, they serve.
