Offaly Hospice Foundation is a voluntary fundraising group set up in 1990 who tirelessly raise funds and awareness for the palliative/hospice care services in County Offaly. You can find more information about the foundation on http://www.offalyhospice.ie. We are doing this fundraiser for the Midlands Hospice Building Fund.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Offaly Hospice like so many other charitable organisations have not been able to conduct its normal fundraising activities, and this will have a major impact on the critical services supported by the foundation and those families who have someone in need of end of life care. Thankfully however six heroes from the Lough Boora Running Group have stepped up and have decided to run 100km over two days around the towns and hinterlands of Offaly to raise much needed funds and indeed awareness of the work done by Offaly Hospice Foundation and the palliative and hospice care teams. The group of lads led by John Bennett are Noel Flynn, Michael Guinan, Pat Hill, Vincent Devery, Michael Melia & Will Faulkner (Midlands 103) and the support team is Ray Bell, Paddy Daly and Damien Brazil.
The Run itself will start Day 1 at 9.30am in Cloghan and will pass through Banagher, Birr, Kilcormac and finish at Doolans of the Blueball. Day 2 will again start at 9.30am in Daingean and pass through Ballinagar, Tullamore, Clara, Ballycumber, Ferbane and finish in Cloghan
Many Thanks for your support.
