I dropped my granddaughter Cara who was nine at the time to football one evening a few years ago. In the car where all good conversations happen, she said to me, 'Are you retired?' I said, 'No' she moved on further 'What do you work at so?'. Thinking of my seven years as board chair at Glencree, I said, 'I work for world peace'. She burst out laughing and said, 'That's not a real job'. Two years later, we were walking in the park with her new dog and I asked her how school was going and what she thought she might be interested in doing after school, she said, 'I think I'd like to work for world peace!'
At Glencree we stand for the possibility that peace is possible when we act on what is important to us. We stand for the possibility that all children can grow and develop and live in safety and peace. #theworkwedo Support our walk for peace. Bigí Linn on 19th September
