Jimmy Murray Memorial

To perpetuate the memory of the late Jimmy Murray,
the only Roscommon man to captain a Senior Football Team to All-Ireland Championship success. With the blessing and support of the Murray family, it has been decided to remember Jimmy by erecting a suitable monument of him in his native Knockcroghery which will act as a reminder to us all of a life of great achievement, of his love for Roscommon, devotion to the G.A.A. and his community.

overview

We as proud Knockcroghery people and more importantly, as proud Rossies would like to honour, highlight, and celebrate the achievements of Jimmy Murray one of the greatest Rossies ever by erecting a monument befitting of the man himself.

We hope to achieve this through the work of our dedicated committee, the talented work of Mr. Mark Feeley, and most importantly the generous and kind support of our community both near and far.

This isn't a project for the few to enjoy but for all to be proud of and cherish.
