A team of cyclists completed over 200km each on tough Wicklow hills of Saturday 5 and 6. They raised more than €35,000 to support families living with cancer during Covid-19.
‘We are in awe of their efforts and so grateful for their fantastic support,’ said a spokesman for Purple House.
Irish Cycling Safaris organised the event, and The Martello and Maison Moli fed the cyclists.
The event was originally planned to take place ‘Coast2Coast’, with a journey from Galway to Bray.
Participants went out on their bikes over the weekend for the ‘Wild Wicklow Staycation Challenge.’
On the Saturday, they started in Arklow and cycled to Gorey and back.
On the Sunday, they started at Purple House in Bray, made their way to Arklow, and returned to finish at the Purple House HQ on Duncairn Terrace.
The goal of the event was to raise €30,000 to mark Purple House’s 30th anniversary, and they far exceeded that sum.
