Our 5th Annual Strip and Dip will take place on the 10th June 2017. At this dip we celebrate people who have been through cancer and are out the other side, we remember loved ones that didn’t make it and we celebrate being great women. This event also highlights how important it is to get your boobs checked, this is a message dear to a lot of us. In this event there will be roughly 30-40 women who have gone through breast cancer and we don’t want any woman to have to go through it unnecessarily.
This year again our chosen charity is Aoibheann's Pink Tie which is Irelands National Children’s Charity. Aoibheanns Pink Tie provide financial and practical support to children and their families battling cancer in Ireland. As a volunteer run charity 96% of the money raised goes towards supporting and providing practical help the families of children fighting cancer in Ireland.
This Dip start five years ago when Dee Featherstone had breast cancer and a few weeks after her gruelling chemo and mastectomy she wanted to organise something fun. Boy do we have fun every year. It is simply the best day ever and so meaningful with fundraising, celebration, remembrance and womanhood.
We are so proud to say that in the four dips we have done so far we have raised €100,000 for children’s cancer.
