From 1st December 2020 to 28th February 2021
Fundraiser for C.A.P.S Cavan Autism Parents Support CLG Sensory Garden repairs and alterations.
C.A.P.S. seen the need for a Sensory Garden with the aim of providing a safe environment where individuals of all ages with disabilities can visit and explore their senses without feeling over-stimulated by them. This garden will also be beneficial to parents, guardians, carers, siblings and others who do not have a disability as they too can explore and learn about their senses/nature and have a safe place to relax/unwind.
C.A.P.S. will strive to achieve these aims by creating a garden that will have:
Stimulation of the senses – sight, touch, smell, hearing etc.
Secure fencing around entire perimeter of the garden
Provide a location for people of all ages to come along and visit the garden and feel relaxed
C.A.P.S. CLG will work together with Cavan County Council to ensure the Sensory Garden is tidy and kept clean etc.
Safe and secure spaces like this are lacking greatly throughout the country. This will be the only public Sensory Garden in the region.
