Cycle Against Suicide - Mizen 2 Malin

At Cycling Against Suicide, we organise fun, unique challenges, to help in the delivery of our mission.  To this end, Cycle Against Suicide are inviting individuals to participate in our Mizen to Malin Challenge.
Busing cyclists from Dublin to Mizen and then back from Malin Head, we have selected this scenic route because of the excellent mix of challenge and wonder that it has to offer. Everyone who participates in this challenge will have fun, enjoying all of the camaraderie of a tough ride with all of the inner satisfaction of a great cause.

Cycle Against Suicide 'Buddy' programme.
Suicide is an incredibly complex issue.  However, it is preventable with timely. evidenced-based interventions. This recognition what shapes Cycle Against Suicide's approach to its work.  Each one of its programmes has a target audience and is supported by evidence-based research and best practices that delivers results.
Cycle Against Suicide is fundraising for its Cycle Against Suicide 'Buddy’ initiative.  Peer support is an emerging practice within the mental health sector.  Evidence suggests that peer support can improve individuals' personal well-being and is associated with more positive attitudes towards mental and physical health, increased positive coping strategies and a decrease in negative coping strategies. Studies highlight that participants' levels of anxiety, perceived stress, locus of control and self-esteem all improve. The benefits of certified peer specialists found significant reduction in crisis services and inpatient hospitalisations.
Cycle Against Suicide over the coming year aims to develop and embed a grassroots network of 'Buddy' support that is freely accessible, delivered locally, by locals to locals, in communities across Ireland.
Cycle Against Suicide are seeking support to help train 'Buddies' in communities across Ireland.   Thank you for supporting our work.
