On the weekend of 8-10th April, up to 150 students of Maynooth College and supporters of Heart Children will take on a mammoth 400kms cycle from Maynooth to Galway and back to raise funds for Heart Children's CoaguChek INR home-testing programme which provides children on warfarin medication with a medical device to monitor their blood readings from home without needing to make regular visits to hospital.
We are inviting our supporters to take part in the event or to go the distance one way - 200km - virtually on a stationary bike at home or in the gym with a fundraising target of €400.
The Galway Cycle was established in 1987 by a group of students and has taken place annually ever since. The event has raised more than €1.8 million for a variety of children’s charities and Heart Children are delighted to be the beneficiary of the funding in 2022 which is hoped will be between €50-100K.
