StepTember Challenge 2022

Step to it in September - 300,000 steps for 300 patients living with EB throughout Ireland.

There are 300 people in Ireland living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - an extremely rare and horrific skin-blistering condition that causes the skin to tear and blister at the slightest touch, for which there is no cure. DEBRA Ireland offer comfort, support and hope to the children, adults and families who live with this devastating condition.  And now you can transform their lives for the better too!

In September, we are asking you to Step to it and sign up for StepTember and raise vital funds so that no patient is left to handle this condition alone. By signing up you will undertake the challenge of 10,000 steps a day. 300,000 over the month of September.

By raising €300 over the 30 days (that’s just €1 for every 1,000 steps you take) you ensure that every patient and family living with EB receives all the support there is, from medical grants and respite support, to the hope research gives them for a future free of such immense pain.

This year DEBRA Ireland’s Patient Ambassador Emma Fogarty is undertaking her own personal StepTember Challenge – undertaking an incredible 10,000 steps a week. This will be a massive test of endurance, but one Emma is determined to take on! Each week you will receive an email where Emma will let you into her world and the challenges she faces every day as she takes on her own StepTember Challenge.

Show your support to Emma and all those living with EB throughout Ireland by joining her this September. Register for StepTember today, and start your journey to raising crucial funds so that no patient is left to handle this condition alone.
Registration is €30 and  you will receive your own specially designed StepTember t-shirt.
If you can’t take part, you can always donate here too! Just click the Donate button.

Will you join me and be a part of the StepTember Challenge?

Hi, my name’s Emma Fogarty and I am very proud to be DEBRA Ireland’s Patient Ambassador, a role which I cherish. I am so happy to be a part of the StepTember Challenge this year. Last year I watched everyone take part, so this year I was determined to get involved.

This September I am taking on my own StepTember Challenge, I hope to complete 10,000 steps a week with the help of my amazing PA Georgina. This is a big challenge for me, but I know that I can do it. Will you join me?

By signing up you will be undertaking the challenge of 10,000 steps a day – that’s over 300,000 over the month of September. You will get your own specially designed StepTember t-shirt to wear with pride!

If you raise over €300 over the 30 days (that’s €1 for every 1,000 steps you take) you ensure that patients like me and their families get the care and support they need.

To sign up for the StepTember Challenge, just click the register button.

Thanks for your support and let’s step to it together this September!
