Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland – SANDAI) is a newly formed, not for profit organisation ( CHY – 19635) that aims to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after.
I am doing the Harrier's Half Marathon in Tullamore this year for Feileacain, a charity that offers support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after. The organisation was formed by a group of bereaved parents who supported each other after the death of their own babies and have now come together to formally offer support to other parents and families who find themselves in a similar situation.
Some of the support services they offer include the provision of memory boxes to hospitals to be given to bereaved families and support meetings for families who have lost their baby. They also raise money to purchase Cuddle Cots/Cold cots for hospitals. These cots helps regulate the baby’s temperature which allows parents to keep their baby with them that little bit longer. There isn’t a price that can be put on that precious time with their baby.

About the Cause
Féileacáin (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Support)
Why the name FéileacáinA Butterfly lights besides us like a sunbeam …Many of the ancient civilizations believed that butterflies were symbols of the human soul, and in Irish mythology the butterflies, or ‘Féileacáin’, are said to be the spirits of the departed who return to visit their favorite place and their loved ones to reassure them that they are alright.
