Winter has set in and the festive season is approaching. That all important Christmas list has been made and the havoc of buying gifts for loved ones has commenced. But what about those who spend their days and nights freezing, starving and struggling to get through each day? Currently, there is over 6,700 people experiencing homelessness across Ireland, of this figure 2,426 are children. Basecamp Outdoor Store has launched their BackPack Challenge: Two Packs, One Aim, with the hope of helping those less fortunate this Christmas. This year’s challenge is in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust and Cross Care.
Donate a Big Pack for the value of €50. This money will be used to buy essential items such as hats, gloves, warm socks, sleeping bags.
Donate a Care Pack for €30: this will provide necessary funding for new toiletries; shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrush, baby wipes, deodorant, feminine hygiene products.
