This summer I will be heading to India for 10 weeks with Suas Educational Development, volunteering as a teaching assistant in a charity-run school. I have volunteered with Suas before as a reading mentor in a local school and I found it to be an excellently run charity, with straight-forward, altruistic goals. Suas Educational Development is a registered Irish Charity (CHY 14931) supporting access to quality education in Ireland, India, Kenya and Zambia for over 10,000 children a year. As well as volunteers, Suas offers financial assistance and ongoing technical expertise to its partner schools. I am aiming to raise 2995 euro...

I am aiming to raise 2995 euro to cover the cost of my particpation in this programme. I will be working as a teaching assistant with children from marginalised communities in Kolkata, the Sundarbans, and Delhi in India. My work will include supporting curricular activities and giving one to one support for some children. I will also be organising extracurricular activities such as sports and summer camps. I will also be organising a few fundraising events to help me reach my goal amount. I would very much appreciate any donations as I would hate to miss out on this amazing opportunity, it is extremely important to me to help others, and I think that education is a thing that all children everywhere deserve.
