At this stage, It is the sad truth that cancer has impacted everyone’s lives in one way or another, whether through personal experience or supporting family, friends neighbours or loved ones. The Galway Hospice provide an amazing service to people with cancer. They rely heavily on public funding to keep up the high standard of care. I am aware that there is alot of fundraising going on for various causes so even a small contribution would be great.
This is my first marathon and I have been training since January. I am quite nervous about it and had fully intended just trying to get through it. I was a little uncertain about fundraising for a charity in case I can't complete it and I would feel like I had let people down but training has been going well. When I was out on a 5 mile run a few weeks ago, in the freezing cold, I thought to myself, why am I putting myself through this unless I can do some good for someone else. With that I decided I was going to go for it and fundraise for Galway Hospice.
Please support in any way you can and spread the word.
Better late than never! Huge congrats on adding this to your achievements!

About the Cause
Galway Hospice Foundation
Galway Hospice Foundation is a voluntary organisation. It was established in 1986 when a group of local doctors and nurses came together with a view to developing hospice services for the people of Galway city and county, as no such services existed there at the time.
