About the Cause
Calcutta Run
All proceeds raised go directly to supporting those experiencing homelessness in Ireland and Kolkata through Dublin Simon Community and The Hope Foundation.
Celebrating 25 Years of HOPE
Set up in 1999 to raise funds for one girl’s home. Today The Hope Foundation (HOPE) funds 58 projects in the areas of education, healthcare, child protection, vocational training and emergency response.
HOPE works primarily with the street & slum children of Kolkata (Calcutta) and the subsequent difficulties that these children encounter. The estimated population of street children in Kolkata is over 250,000. To date HOPE has helped over 2.
Peter McVerry Trust is committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage. Peter McVerry Trust provides low-threshold entry services, primarily to younger persons with complex needs, and offers pathways out of homelessness based on the principles of the Housing First model and within a framework that is based on equal opportunities, dignity and respect.
