Mum, Shauna and myself are once again undertaking the Women's Mini Marathon! Each year we walk/ run in memory of our family members who have passed due to cancer. Aunt Helen was such a huge personality and a huge loss in the Walsh family as Shauna's mum, my mothers sister and my Godmother - and she was but one of our family members who was cared for by the Hospice.
St Francis Hospice have been very good to our family, with a number of family members spending their final weeks battling cancer here and they will always be remembered for their kindness and care in the final days.
We continue to fundraise for them amongst the extended family as the hospice relies heavily on donations and fundraising - there is no cost to patients or families for any of the hospice services. The service is partially financed by the Health Service Executive and relies upon the generous support of the public. Any spare €1 will go to a great cause and help those live out their final days with dignity, respect and compassion.
The staff and volunteers of St. Francis Hospice provide specialist palliative care to people of North Dublin City and County. Our services are delivered from our hospices in Raheny and Blanchardstown. Based on a Christian philosophy, each person is treated with dignity, respect and compassion irrespective of their cultural or religious background. Our services are at no charge to patients.
