After a conversation with a few friends, probably including a number of beers, I signed up to do the RoK2017.
I am not a great fan of the bike and taking on a challenge of 180km seemed grand at the time.
Taking out the bike 6 weeks ago for the first time I began to realise the extent of what lay ahead but thanks to a number of training runs with some really great guys , Crokes lads, Garbhan and joe I am ready for whatever the cycle presents.
To keep me motivated I decided to committ myself to a deserving Charity , Down Syndrome Kerry.
Hence the ask to make a donation to a very worthy cause. Here go's on the 1st July ....
Down Syndrome Kerry is a well-established branch containing 212 members.
The Kerry Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland began to rent their first office space at Modderwell, Tralee in 2012. They use this space to deliver many courses and programmes including Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy.
A very hard working Branch with one common interest, to support their children, adolescents, adult members and their families. This is reflected in the hard work and dedication of all the Kerry Branch Members who work tirelessly not only fundraising but also providing effective programmes to all their members.
