The Achill, Ballyglass, Lifeboats have been involved in the search for Rescue 116, also included is the Clifden Lifeboat. The Achill and Ballyglass lifeboats spent six weeks at sea 24/7. In the six weeks the lifeboats used the yearly fuel allowance of 2800 hours and the funds being raised are for crew equipment. The crew from Clifden Lifeboat Station took a few days crewing the lifeboats, They provide a voluntary service 365 days a year. It is a difficult job as they go out in all sorts of weather to help; Trawlers, Ships, Pleasures Crafts and Medical Evacuation from of shore Islands just so of the work they do. I would appeal for the general public to support this worthy cause.
