Frances Thornton Memorial Swim is a 13k swim across Galway Bay in aid of Cancer Care West. My late mother, Eily McCloskey, loved to swim in Blackrock every day. Unfortunately, she passed away from cancer in June 2013 at the age of 84 and was swimming up to the end. I am doing this swim in memory of my mother and would very much appreciate your donations. Cancer Care West is a very worthy charity and has helped many families throughout the years. My profile picture is my mother heading for her swim in Blackrock at the end of Hurricane Katia in September 2011 at the ripe old age of 82.
So proud of you Mary , well done to you and all the swimmers. What a tremendous accomplishment 🎉 🏊🏻
