In September 2012, Padraic and Paula Naughton were given the devastating news that their eight-year-old son Archie and three-year-old twin boys George and Isaac had all been diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The neuromuscular disease is fatal in all cases, and there is no treatment or cure. To be told that one of your children has a fatal disease, that currently has no treatment or cure is devastating. To be told your 3 children have it is beyond comprehension, beyond words. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy or DMC is a progressive neuromuscular disease that destroys muscle tissue and it is currently fatal. One in every 3500 baby boys are born with DMD worldwide . Currently there is no cure.Archie is 11 and will be doing the Dublin City Marathon to raise awareness and funds to help him and his brothers find a cure for Duchenne. His trainer Sinead and 3 others will push him along the 26.2 miles and we are privileged to be part of the team walking behind them. Please like and share the posts to create awareness. The dreams they had for their boys were changed forever. A diagnosis of Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is devastating. It is a 100% fatal, neuromuscular disease that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys and each year 20,000 children worldwide are born with DMD; 99% of these are boys. There are no words to describe h
