On October 7th, I shall be braving it all to Abseil off the Hogan Stand of Croke Park in order to raise much needed funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. The funds raised will go towards much needed research into Motor Neurone Disease, towards providing specialised equipment for patients, and providing care and support for both patients and families as they battle so bravely through this horrible disease.
Of course, this charity and cause are very close to my heart as my uncle, Joe Barnwell, passed away from the disease in 2015. Joe died at the young of 40 after battling the disease strongly for two years. Joe was an inspiration to us all, full of life, laughter and fun until the very end. He was very adventurous and always up for the crack, and would have loved the opportunity to do this Abseil himself. So I will be doing this Abseil in memory of him, as he looks down upon me in disbelief as I fall 100ft.
I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me in this event and for this extremely worthy cause. Thank you in advance!
