Hi guys 🙂

I am hoping to raise funds for Our Lady's Hospice and Care Services in Harolds Cross. This place means a lot to me and my family. My mam spent some time here when she was diagnosed with Breast cancer. It came to a stage where we needed more help with my mam and she needed 24 hour care. The people we met in Our Lady's hospice were so positive and caring. My mam didn't want to leave the day she was going home. All she spoke about was her favourite room with a view. They even allowed us to hold a tea party which my mam loved as well as all of the friends she made while she was there. My mam loved to make new friends and she was such a happy positive person.

When my mam had to go back to the hospice she couldn't communicate with us which was very sad for us all to deal with but we knew she would be happy to be back in her favourite room. All she had spoken about was how she loved to see outside and listen to the birds in the tree outside her window.

The day my mam passed away in the hospice the staff were amazing. They did everything they could have possibly done all through the night when we knew we were losing her and when she passed away in the middle of the night. They were so caring and gave us all as much time as we needed to come to terms with losing her. They helped my dad, my sister, my two younger brothers and myself as well as the huge group of family and friends we had there with us.

Its a very sad time when you lose someone you love and the staff at the hospice cared so much even though they deal with this kind of loss every day. We will never forget what they have done for us and I am hoping to raise as many funds as possible for them so that they can continue to help families who need them like we did.
