Hi everyone! I know most of our friends already know, but to those who don't, Alex, our beautiful, funny, clever little six year old boy was diagnosed with autism in August 2016. That was the official day of diagnosis. We had been going through the long year of assessments since Alex was three years old. Alex was reaching all of his milestones, and was even talking at one. We noticed when he was about two, that he had lost his words. We thought he perhaps had a hearing problem as he was such a happy, easy baby and we in no way ever thought about autism. So when a family member mentioned the 'A'word to me I was shocked and very very upset. Anyhow the rollercoaster started then, and during that time, I heard about Snowflakes. They have been incredibly supportive to us over the last year or so. Alex goes to Lego Club and various therapies subsidised by them. Without Snowflakes, many parents might be left feeling alone, and scared for the future. However when we go to different events, I get to chat with other parents who completely understand the difficulties autism can bring with it. I'm not here to moan though. I love Alex more than anything and wouldn't change a bone in his body. He is just wonderful just the way he is. If you could find time to donate and support this wonderful charity I would be so delighted. I am running the marathon and also swimming for a mile on the 6th of April. Any donations will be appreciated fully. Thank you all and I will keep you all updated as we get closer to both events! Please help me to help this great charity. ❤️
