The time of year has come again and this year I have decided to fundraise for The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
Alzheimer has been present in my life since a very young age.
My nan’s sisters and my precious nan herself were the victims of this dreadful illness.
I witnessed the person who has thought me so much and was always there for all of us, no matter what, disappear and we were not able to do anything to stop this.
Alzheimer got to my nan at a fairly young age, she was only in her fifies when it all started.
It was same with her sisters.
I don’t know if I cary the gene, I’m not even sure if I am willing to find out but the risk does increase when a family member has the illness.
I know I cannot cure Alzheimer’s but having witnessed it first hand and being potentially at a risk of one day suffering from it I want to be able to say I did something to help.
This is why this year I support The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland and I am looking for your support.
Every little penny helps.
Love,
Monika
