Five regular Hospice Cyclists and members of Swords Cycling Club have pooled their considerable resources in order to raise substantial funds for the Hospice Nurses for Night Care Service. This essential service provides vital end of life care for those who chose to spend their last days and nights in their own homes. Meeting our combined sponsorship targets, together with paying our own costs, gets us to the start line in Northern Istria before we take on the plains, hills and mountains of Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. When not fundraising in shopping centres, we are busy clocking up the training kilometres on our bikes in NCD, Meath, Kildare and further afield.
Post Cycle Update:
All safely back home after a tough but enjoyable five days cycling. We covered over 600km and about 7,000m of climbing in the Julian Alps. I think we had more rain than on any previous Hospice Cycle but the stunning scenery more than compensated for the weather. Fortunately temperatures were much lower than at home so there was no chance of heatstroke or sunburn! Thanks to all our sponsors and the generous shoppers at Charlestown Shopping Centre, we more than met our sponsorship targets. If you haven't yet contributed, please do by clicking the Donate button.
