Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland – SANDAI) is a newly formed, not for profit organisation ( CHY – 19635) that aims to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after. The organisation was formed by a group of bereaved parents who supported each other after the death of their own babies and have now come together to formally offer support to other parents and families who find themselves in a similar situation. They offer this support through counselling, memory boxes and support meetings and much more.
While living and working in Qatar, we were delighted to welcome our first born little boy Noah to the world on the 12th May 2015. Noah arrived after just 24 weeks weighing just under 2lbs. Noah fought bravely but unfortunately passed away on the 20th May from complications of his premature birth. We believe he’s a unique little Clongeen man having been born in Qatar and travelled home with us under a UK passport!!
We are taking the opportunity this year to remember his birthday while raising much needed funds for Feileacain, who were immensely helpful to us during this very difficult period.
